Program manager

Do you want to contribute to sustainable change through high-quality development programs? ADRA Sweden is looking for a Program Manager to coordinate and ensure the quality of our Sida-funded development programs. You will serve as the main contact for partner offices, lead processes for applications, reporting, and follow-up, and ensure that our interventions maintain high quality, comply with donor requirements, and achieve sustainable results. The role involves close dialogue with stakeholders, partners, and colleagues within the ADRA network.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and follow up on Sida-funded development projects.
  • Serve as main contact for partner offices and provide ongoing support.
  • Lead the application process and ensure quality of narrative and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and ADRA guidelines.
  • Review and analyse reports and conduct organisational assessments.
  • Participate in capacity-building of partner organisations.
  • Conduct field visits and remote monitoring: plan, document, and follow up on projects together with partners.
  • Provide strategic support and input to management and the ADRA Sweden board on program development and monitoring.
  • Provide strategic input to management and represent ADRA in forums.

 

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic degree in development studies, political science, economics or similar.
  • Documented experience in program management for Sida-funded projects.
  • Experience with MEAL processes.
  • Strong knowledge of the program cycle; results-based management (RBM) approaches; e.g.  Outcome Mapping/Harvesting.
  • Excellent writing and analysis/synthesis skills.
  • Ability to analyse and review budgets and ensure financial and narrative quality.
  • Experience working in an international context and building partnerships with organisations in the Global South.
  • Strong communication skills in English.

 

Merits

  • Knowledge of ADRA’s thematic areas: education, health and livelihoods.
  • Experience in Outcome Mapping/Harvesting.
  • Knowledge of resilience, integrated programming (nexus), and climate change adaptation.
  • Proficiency in Swedish or/and French.
